The Recessionista is a big fan of NoKA chocolates, and loves stopping by the Northpark location to sample the best dark chocolates in the universe (the milk chocolate is exceptional too), chat with owners Noah and Katrina, and learn a little about the making of chocolate.
With Easter right around the corner, the fine folks at NoKA have created two special blends in dark chocolate and in milk chocolate shaped in bunnies and in eggs. Both the bunnies and the eggs are solid chocolate and weigh about an ounce. Pricetag? $2.75! Recessionista is in chocolate heaven. They make lovely high-end gifts, especially if you spring for the gift boxes (Recessionista is fond of the steel boxes). Oh, and NoKA ships. Great for business gifts, too.
In addition to the joy of chocolate bunnies, Recessionista is thrilled with the opportunity to take part in a wine-tasting event NoKA is sponsoring on April 8th featuring Maximilian Riedel. Riedel has been making fine stemware for 11 generations, and the stemware is hand crafted and customized for different drinks (the wine or liquor will flow from the glass to different points on your tongue for different experiences, appropriate to the type of beverage you're savoring). The tasting is $75, and includes the wines, the audience with Mr Riedel, fabulous Noka truffles, and a set of Riedel stemware that retails for $300. Why? For charity of course. So eat, drink, and feel good about yourself for doing so.
